This year, PTVEMS (Primary Section) celebrated Navratri with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.
Mrs. Bhavika Kulkarni briefed the students on the significance of the Navratri festival by narrating the story of Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura.
During these nine days, she explained the significance of the nine Avatars of Maa Durga on each day, and the students chanted ‘Durga Stuti’ along with her.
On the fifth day, i.e., on the 20th of October 2023, Saraswati Puja was performed by worshipping textbooks and notebooks, along with the chanting of Saraswati stotra.
On the ninth day, i.e., on 23rd  October, children came to school wearing traditional dresses, making the environment look vibrant and colorful. The celebrations started by performing Maa Durga’s Aarti with great devotion. Then the students witnessed different dance performances from different parts of the country by our students. ‘Bathukkama’ – a dance performance from Andhra Pradesh, ‘Dhunuchi’ – a dance of Bengal, and finally, Ramleela of North India. The key attraction of the event was ‘Ravan Dhahan’. Headmistress Mrs. Kalpana Kalekar Ma’am, Supervisor Mrs. Sunita Bhagwat Madam, along with all the other teachers and students, lighted firecrackers to burn the ten-headed demon Ravan, showing the victory of Dharma over Adharma while chanting “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram……”.
The event ended with Garba. Everyone was deeply engrossed in the music and the steps of Garba. This festival brought happiness, faith, devotion, and a sense of unity to everyone.
