Farewell note for Agnes teacher

Farewell note for Agnes teacher

There are some people who leave behind footprints so deep that even time pauses to acknowledge them—and today, we bid farewell to one such incredible soul, our very own Agnes Teacher.

Honestly, where do we begin?

Thirty-five years. That’s not just a number—it’s a legacy. Agnes Teacher has not just worked in this school; she has helped build its spirit. From the ground of the sports field to the heart of every celebration, from welcoming new teachers to raising generations of students—her presence is woven into every corner of this institution.

As a Physical Training teacher, she wasn’t just training children in exercises and drills. She was shaping character, instilling discipline, and teaching life lessons without even needing a classroom. But to limit her identity to PT would be doing her a great disservice—because Agnes Teacher has worn more hats than we can count, and each with absolute grace.

From the moment you walk into this school as a new teacher, she’s the first warm smile you remember. The one who gently corrects you when you’re unsure, the one who pushes you to do better, and the one who always, always has your back. She’s been a mentor, a comfort, a role model—and, frankly, the glue that has held many of us together in our most chaotic moments.

When it comes to English—her command over the language is something we’ve all admired. Clear, confident, and always articulate—whether addressing a crowd or guiding a child, her words always carried weight and warmth.

And oh—her cooking! If you’ve ever been lucky enough to taste a dish made by Agnes Teacher, you know it’s not just food—it’s an experience. Her generosity shines through the smallest of gestures, and sharing her food has been her way of sharing love, tradition, and comfort with all of us.

Some of our most unforgettable school events have had Agnes Teacher at the helm—especially the Sports Day. Year after year, she managed it all single-handedly, and made it look effortless. Whether it was organizing events, motivating students, managing chaos or standing under the hot sun with the same energy from morning to evening—she did it with pride, precision, and passion.

During national holiday celebrations, she’d be here even before the sun—5:30 AM, already checking preparations, ensuring everything was just right, down to the last flag. And when it came to selecting prefects for Investiture Ceremonies, her eye for student leadership was uncanny. She somehow always spotted the potential others might have missed—and her chosen students always turned out to shine.

She’s been the proud voice behind the Annual Sports Report on Annual Day—a moment we all looked forward to. Because when Agnes Teacher spoke, she didn’t just read a report—she celebrated the spirit of sports, discipline, and effort.

But beyond events and accolades, what stands out most is her heart. The way she connects with children in nature, especially on school picnics—showing them flowers, talking to them about birds, gently encouraging them to notice the world around them—that’s something truly special. She’s not just loved by her students; she’s adored.

And let’s not forget—age has never been a factor for her. Honestly, if there’s one person who makes us question the concept of aging, it’s Agnes Teacher. Her energy, her laughter, her curiosity—it puts most of us to shame. Be it a school event or a spontaneous trekking trip, she’s always up for it, proving that life is to be lived fully, at every age.

And yes—let’s take a moment to appreciate her beautiful handwriting. Every note from her, every line she wrote, looked like it belonged in a calligraphy book. Neat, elegant, and full of care—just like everything she did.

Dear Agnes Teacher, your absence is going to be felt deeply—not just because of what you did, but because of who you are. You’ve given this school your time, your energy, your love, and your soul. And now, as you step into a life where you come first, we hope you take time to trek more, cook more, laugh more, and just be—free, relaxed, and surrounded by everything you love.

They say some teachers leave the classroom, but never the hearts—and you, Teacher, have a forever place in ours.

With deepest respect, gratitude, and all our love—thank you for everything.
