A sensitization session on POCSO and Safe and Unsafe Touch was conducted for the students of Standard IV by the School Counsellor, Meghana Barve. The session commenced with an age-appropriate awareness video depicting how a child can identify uncomfortable touch and seek help through the proper reporting channels. This was followed by a presentation explaining the concepts of safe and unsafe touch, personal boundaries, and the steps children should take if they ever feel uncomfortable, including saying “No,” moving away, and informing a trusted adult. An open discussion was then held, during which students participated actively and demonstrated a clear understanding of the topic. They confidently identified safe and unsafe situations and expressed their thoughts responsibly. The session proved to be highly engaging and meaningful, reinforcing awareness, self-protection skills, and the importance of speaking up.
