History of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya-English Medium School
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School was established on 29th June 1982 .To keep abreast with the changing times , it was felt that a school with English as a medium of instruction was necessary. Hence, under the leadership of the then President Late Shri. Sharad Sathaye and the then Vice President Late Shri .G.R .Thosar ,Parle Tilak Vidyalaya , English Medium School was founded.
Although many have lent a helpful hand to giving P T V the status of a leading educational institution , it could not have been achieved without the mammoth efforts of Late .Smt. Sulabha Sule ( Superintendent) and Mrs. Shobhana Bijoor ( Headmistress)
The school started functioning with 120 students in the premises of the Marathi Medium for the first 5 years. The year 1987 saw another landmark, when the school moved to its own new building.
Mrs. Sulabha Sule
A visionary and an educationist par excellence , she is the pioneer in laying down the foundation of English Medium School. Her association with the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association spans for Fifty Three years. A recipient of the state Award for the ‘Best Teacher’ she can be rightfully called as the ‘DOYEN of our school’. After she retired as the Head- Mistress of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Marathi Medium, she was invited to take charge of the English Medium School. All that we are today is because of her foresight, initiative, involvement and above all her blessings.
Mrs. Shobhana Bijoor (Ex – Headmistress 1983-1994 )
Mrs. Shobhana Bijoor joined the Parle tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School in 1982 as an Asst. teacher from the day of it’s inception. In the June 1983 she was appointed as the Headmistress and she looked after both the sections (Primary and Secondary ) until 1994.
Mrs. Bijoor was an ex- student of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Marathi Medium. It is her foresight, and vision which has given the school such a strong foundation. A true nature lover, her contribution to our Nature Club is immense… The introduction of House System in the school. Computer education, Interact Club are some of the development in our school initiated by her. Very committed and known for excellent time management skills, she has been an inspiration to all of us here.
Mrs. Amita Bhide (Ex- Headmistress , Primary Section- 1994-2013)
Mrs. Amita Bhide joined Parle Tilak Vidyalaya –Eng.Med.School on 29th June 1982 as an Assistant Teacher. She was promoted to the post of the Primary Section Supervisor and later as the H.M.in the year 1994. She was the recipient of the ‘ Best Achievement Award’ from the Education Department. She served various committees and panels. She was very well known for her management skills and her friendly attitude. Madam Bhide played a key role in setting up the PTV- ICSE school established on 9th June 2008. She is the pioneer in laying down the foundation of the ICSE school. Mrs Bhide served the school for 31 years and retired from her services on 30th June 2013.
