Balika Din

PTVEMS Primary section celebrated Balika Din – the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule on 3rd January 2024.

Savitribai Phule challenged the norms of the 19th century and became the torchbearer of women’s education in India. Her unwavering efforts remind us that no hurdle is too big if we have the will to overcome it.

The programme started with the talk on Savitribai Phule by Urmila Bhende teacher to enlighten the students about the work of Savitribai Phule. 

Our Headmistress Madam Mrs. Kalpana Kalekar and our Supervisor Madam Mrs. Sunita Bhagwat garlanded the photoframe of Savitribai Phule while the students in the class joined their hands to pay their respect to this great woman.

Students made sketches, posters and slogans which were then displayed outside the classroom display boards as well as in the classrooms.  They were also displayed on the school display board to motivate and encourage the students’ efforts.

Our students pledged to uphold the values she stood for and continue her work towards a more egalitarian society.
