PTVEMS, Primary Section had organised a school picnic to Saguna Baug (Karjat) on Friday 1st December ’23.

 The morning chill was filled with excitement of the children. We set for the journey in the buses fully packed with students and teachers. All the students kept singing and dancing till they reached the venue.We were welcomed there by a brace of ducks swaying to the other side of the road.The destination escorts guided us to the breakfast table. After enjoying our sumptuous breakfast, we began with our agro tour in groups.

 The bullock cart ride reminded us of our native place.Paddle boating gave a glimpse of nature floating around in the green water.

 Students and teachers enjoyed at the ‘Bird Aviary’ watching the Ostrich, Emu and holding the Iguana on their heads and shoulders. The amount of fun the students had on the hammock and climbing the trees was simply unmatched. We all were zapped to witness the ‘Aqua Culture’. The variety of fishes they caught in drag net fishing and even touching them was a thrilling experience especially for the students.

Then we headed for lunch, followed by some other activities like oil extraction, drip irrigation and Bee Apiary.The escorts interacted with the students providing them with the information about the above activities and sensitise them towards ‘Mother Nature ‘. After the nature walk, it was time for the most awaited part of the picnic – ‘The Magic show’. The magician performed some amazing tricks which children enjoyed a lot. The ‘Snake show’ also was amazing. Last but not the least – ‘Malkhamb’ where a group of local gymnasts performed breathtaking aerial yoga and gymnastic postures using wrestling grips in concert with stationery pole.

The time passed so soon that we didn’t realise the day was over .The vada pav with kokum sherbet spiced up the memories of the day for a lifetime.
