PTV EMS ‘Van Mahotsav’ week was celebrated from 1st to 8th of July 2023
‘PLANT A TREE AND LIVE LONGER,
SAVE A TREE AND MAKE OUR FUTURE STRONGER.’
The Slogan for the week was portrayed on the young minds of the students of PTVEMS as they celebrated the ‘Van Mahotsav’ week from 1st to 8th of July.
The event commenced with short influencing speech by Mrs Manashri Kashalkar teacher signifying the importance of Van Mahotsav.
Each day of the week, students expressed the importance of trees in our lives through various poems and songs sung during the assembly by Sanvi Ipte, Shreya Wagh and Riyana Sarangdhar.
There was a grand celebration on Friday 7th of July . The event was graced by the presence of PTVA Vice President Shri Vinay Jog and Secretary Shri Dilip Pethe, who planted saplings and took a small step forward to a green and healthy environment.
Our Headmistress Mrs Kalpana Kalekar and our Supervisor Mrs Sunita Bhagwat took the blessing of Goddess Saraswati and performed Puja of Tulsi plant praying for the good of our nature-Mother Earth and distributed pista barfi prasad among the staff members.
A short programme was organised in the school hall in which Shalmali Agre the student of grade 3 addressed the audience as a tree. The dance song ‘Ped Lagao’ was beautifully performed by grade 4th students, bright costumes resembling different fruits and vegetables by grade 1 students made them look more adorable in the song adding smiles to everyone’s faces.
Later a short video was shown to the students showcasing the importance of trees, it’s growth, tree unity ending with a social message to not cut trees with a Hindi song video ‘Na Kato Mujhe Dukhta Hai’ which instilled in the students the value of social responsibility to save trees.
‘Go Green ‘ initiative was taken by the teachers and students.Teachers by dressing in green and students by wearing green headbands and carrying green healthy tiffins for the day.
The curiosity about Van Mahotsav among the students was fulfilled by the display boards which educated them through the good words and attractive pictures of plants and trees.
The celebration ended on 8th of July by gifting the sapling of tulsi plants to the PTA members, extending the love for our healthy and green planet making it a better place for our survival.
