Teachers Day

Teachers Day

From Ramayana to the Mahabharata, India and its culture has always given paramount importance to the relationship between Gurus and shishyas (teacher and students). Taking the tradition a step forward, every year on September 5, the nation celebrates Teachers’ Day to honour the immense contributions of educators in shaping the nation’s future.

This day is not only but also a tribute to the dedication and hard work of teachers.  It also commemorates the birth anniversary of one of India’s most revered scholars and former President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Like every year, this year also our school celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5 with fervor and zeal.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the portrait of the great educationist & philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by our Headmistress Mrs. Kalpana V. Kalekar and Mrs Sunita H. Bhagwat.

Our Head girl took up the role of the Headmistress and the head boy took up the role of Supervisor and initiated the day’s assembly.

The students of standard 4 took up the role of the teacher’s for a day, allowing them to understand the responsibilities and challenges of the teaching profession.

Students expressed their gratitude and presented them with flowers and cards as tokens of appreciation.

The PTA members felicitated our Headmistress Mrs. Kalpana V. Kalekar and Mrs. Agnes Shastri for their significant contributions to the field of education by presenting them with a memento.

The PTA members organized fun games and refreshments for the teachers. All the teachers enjoyed and appreciated the programme.

The day concluded with appreciation and distribution of sweets and refreshments to the students who had taken up the role of the teacher for the day and managed the school so well.

Thus the entire celebration paved a new hope for the teachers to rejoice the journey as a teacher. The crux of the programme was ‘Celebrating Teachers on the Teachers’ Day…’
