World Pulses Day

World Pulses Day

World Pulses Day was celebrated on 9th February 2026 with great enthusiasm at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School to spread awareness about the importance and nutritional value of pulses among students.

Students of Std. 1 and Std. 2 actively participated by bringing boiled pulses chaat from home. The children enjoyed eating the healthy snack and learned that pulses are an important part of a balanced diet.

Students of Std. 3 and Std. 4 used the pulses brought from home to prepare chaat in school. Through this hands-on activity, they learned how simple ingredients can be used to make tasty and nutritious food.

As a special highlight, Std. 4 students prepared five different recipes using pulses. They confidently explained how to make delicious pulse-based snacks, encouraging healthy eating habits among their peers.

In addition, ten students from Std. 4 wrote the nutritional values of five different pulses on A4-size papers and displayed them. This activity helped students understand the health benefits of pulses in an informative and creative way.

The programme was successfully guided and coordinated by teachers Ms. Mansi Karkar and Mrs. Madhuri Jadhav. It helped students understand the importance of pulses in daily meals and promoted healthy food choices.
