Celebration of National Postal Day at PTVEMS Primary Section
On 11th October, our school enthusiastically celebrated National Postal Day, highlighting the significance of the postal system in our daily lives and honouring the role of postal workers.
The programme began with a speech by Mrs. Bhavika Kulkarni, who shared the history and purpose of National Postal Day. The speaker emphasized how postal services have connected people across the country, even in the remotest regions, and have been a crucial part of communication for centuries. The speech also acknowledged the tireless work of postal employees and their contributions to society.
Also an exhibition of postal stationery was displayed, showcasing stamps, postcards, envelopes, and other items used in the postal system. Students were excited to learn about the different forms of postal communication and how they have evolved over time. The exhibition also provided an insight into how letters and parcels are processed and delivered.
A unique and interactive part of the event was when the students were invited to write invitations for the upcoming *Fort Exhibition* on postcards. These handwritten postcards, addressed to their families and friends, were collected by the postman Mr. Sukhadev Borade, who visited the school especially for the event. The sight of the postman collecting the postcards in a postbox was a delightful experience for the students, giving them a glimpse of how the traditional postal service operates.
The day was a wonderful learning experience, fostering an appreciation for the postal system and encouraging the students to use postal services in their daily lives.
Overall, the National Postal Day celebration was an enlightening and engaging event, leaving the students with a deeper understanding of the importance of the postal service in our society.
