“Sunshine, Snacks and Smiles: Perfect Picnic Vibes! ”

PTVEMS, Primary Section had organised a school picnic to Monteria Village (Karjat) for the students of Std 1 to 3 and to Monteria Resort (Karjat) for Std 4.

The picnic day began early in the morning with the buses arriving at the school to pick up the students. Everyone was in high spirits as they boarded the buses, chatting with friends and eagerly awaiting the arrival at the picnic spot. The students enjoyed singing and dancing in the bus on their way to the destination.

On reaching, the students were welcomed by the sounds of dhol and showering of flower petals. Class photographs were also clicked at the entrance. After having the delicious breakfast the students were divided into groups and enjoyed sight-seeing of the various places along with the escorts, wherein they were shown beds of vermicompost, bio briquettes and biogas plant. The escorts interacted with the students providing them information about the same. The students also had fun watching the puppet-show and magic-show.
Then the students headed for the  scrumptious lunch. Post lunch the students rested on the hammocks under the tall trees which gave them a complete village feel. They also had joyful tractor-ride around the Monteria village.

Later the students explored the village and it’s fair. The village had all kinds of shops that we find in a village. They got hands on experience to do the activities like pottery, wooden chair making, bamboo basket-weaving and stitching. There was also a barber shop, post-office, dispensary, lemon soda stall, golawala stall, anganwadi (preschool) and Mahila Grah Udyog. The fair had many traditional games like lagori, spinning tops, skipping, tug of war, cricket, etc.

The students of Std 4 also had an amazing time doing indoor and outdoor activities at the Monteria Resort. They actively performed vertical net, zipline and showed a thrilling adventure at the challenge course tower.

The day soon ended with a sense of fulfillment and joy. The tasty vada-pav and fruit juice rejuvenated all of us creating unforgettable memories of the fun-filled day.
