Sports Day: Winning is the goal, but effort is the victory
The Annual Sports Day of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya was celebrated with unparalleled enthusiasm and energy on 19th January 2025. The event began with a warm welcome to all attendees, including the esteemed chief guest, Mr. Siddarth Sabapathy. An accomplished alumnus of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School and ML Dahanukar College, Mr. Sabapathy is a leading figure in sports management. As the co-founder of Community Football Club India, an All India Football Federation-certified Match Commissioner, and General Manager of the Prime Volleyball League’s Ahmedabad Defenders, his remarkable journey has inspired many young minds. His presence at the event added a special touch, motivating students to excel both on and off the field. Honourable Vice president of the managing committee of PTVA Shri Vinay Jog sir also graced this event. Mrs Kalpana Kalekar- Principal of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School- primary section teaching, non-teaching staff, students and a large gathering of parents were present to witness the grand event.
The Head Mistress, Ms. Kalpana Kalekar, delivered a powerful welcome address, underscoring the pivotal role of sports in instilling discipline, resilience, teamwork, and a spirit of fair play in students. The day kicked off with a captivating March Past by the students of Class 4, their synchronized movements and proud strides earning resounding applause from the audience. The event had its grand opening by the hoisting of the sports flag and declaring the Annual Sports Meet open for the year 2024-2025 by the Head Mistress followed by the symbolic Torch-Bearing Ceremony -igniting a flame of unity and determination.
The excitement reached new heights with the awe-inspiring Pyramids Display, where students showcased their incredible teamwork, balance, and strength. This was followed by the serene and graceful Yogasana Display, where the students demonstrated mindfulness, focus, and inner strength through their fluid movements. Finals for events such as Running, Hurdles race and Potato race were held. Parents, teaching and non-teaching staff also enthusiastically took part in the events held for them. Each event was a testament to the hard work, commitment, and spirit of the participants, making the day a true celebration of their achievements.
The day culminated in a grand Victory Ceremony, where winners were honored with well-deserved medals and trophies. Mr. Sabapathy’s encouraging words and the enthusiastic participation of students made Sports Day 2025 an unforgettable celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and perseverance, inspiring everyone to reach for greater heights in both academics and sports.
