*’Planting hope by Planting a tree’.*

As per the above slogan, planting trees will make sure to have a better future for our children. To imbibe this thought in the minds of our little tiny tots PTVEMS Primary Section celebrated ‘Van Mahotsav’ in the first week of July. Van Mahotsav is a tree planting festival which was started by K. M. Munshi in 1950 to create enthusiasm among masses for Forest Conservation and Planting trees.

Van Mahotsav Programme was organised in our school hall. All the students and teachers actively participated in the programme. Our Headmistress and our supervisor planted saplings.  Fanny Periera teacher explained the importance of trees to the students. Stories in Hindi and Marathi language were narrated and poems were recited by the students. Std 3 students prepared slogans and likewise std 4 prepared posters on ‘Save trees’. Videos emphasizing the importance of the same were played for the students to show the socio- economic effects of deforestation. Seed bomb activity was done by std 1 & std 2 students. Poems, articles on SAVE TREES were displayed on the display board which was an eye-catching spectacle.

Van Mahotsav Programme ended with a grand success as it enlightened the students with the information  about various plants and their importance.
